Villa El Horizonte is situated in the Campo Mijas area overlooking the resort of Fuengirola. It is a quiet location yet is just 20 minutes from Malaga airport and only 5 minutes by car from the resort and main coast road for easy access to all the amenities of the Costa Del Sol.
The villa sleeps 10 in five bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a kingsize bed and an ensuite full bathroom, bedroom 2 has a kingsize bed and is next to the main bathroom, bedrooms 3 & 4 each have double beds and their own ensuite shower rooms with toilet.bidet & sink, bedroom 5 has a double bed and sink,and shares the main bathroom.
At extra charge an 11th and 12th person can sleep on the sofa/daybeds in the lounge.Towels & linen are supplied for all guests.
There is a large comfortable lounge with stunning views to the Mediterranean, and dining area for 10 and also a bar area (please stock yourself!). From the dining area there are mountain views and a raised outside terrace from where the evening sunset can be watched. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, microwave/grill, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The villa is also equipped with a washing machine, satellite TV, video recorder, DVD player and stereo system.
Outside the villa has its own pool surrounded by a large terrace area with sun loungers, a large pergola with tables and chairs for alfresco dining, and a gas BBQ and sink. There is also an outside shower with hot and cold water. The pool area is largely unoverlooked and has spectacular views over the resort to the Mediterranean and coast.There is also a community pool set in gardens with table tennis, overlooked by a very pleasant restaurant/bar 10mins walk.
The villa is ideally situated for the many golf courses (& tennis) on the Costa and is also an ideal base for touring. Granada, Seville, Cordoba, Jerez, Gibraltar, Nerja and even Morocco can all be done as day trips from the villa. Mijas, Marbella, Puerto Banus, Cabo Pino and the Costa Del Sol Horse Racing Course are all a short drive away.
There are several restaurants less than 10 minutes walk from the villa and also a supermarket and pharmacy. A local minibus service operates, stopping 25 metres from the villa and delivering you to the centre of Mijas or Fuengirola. For the energetic the town centre and beaches are about a 30 minute walk from the villa.

Your dates are closed to other bookings for 10 days pending receipt of deposit.
The Balance together with an additional £250 (300€) deposit against damage is due 6 weeks prior to arrival date. The damage deposit (less cost of any damage) will be refunded on departure. (We do not charge for the accidental breakage of the odd glass or plate).. Lost keys are charged at £15 per set of 3 or 4 keys.
Damage deposit for groups aged under 25 is £500 (600€).
Please do not take internal furniture, cushions or pillows outside. Ultraviolet from summer sun (or passing showers) will quickly damage the varnish and fabrics. You may be charged for such damage.
Cancellation Policy:
Deposits are refundable only if cancellation is made by e-mail or in writing 4 calendar months prior to arrival date. Once paid the balance is refundable only if we manage to re-let your booked dates and is subject to a £300 re-advertising/administration charge. Failure to pay the balance by the due date may result in your booking being cancelled, in which case the deposit will not be refunded. For bookings with a lead time of less than 2 weeks payment may be made by cash (Sterling or Euros only) on arrival at the villa. Entry to the Villa will be refused until full payment has been received and cleared.
Insurance:
Villa El Horizonte is a private home rented out while the owners are not using it. As such, commercial insurance is not available. Our home insurance does not cover you or you possessions; you are therefore strongly advised to arrange your own adequate insurance for heath, cancellation, accommodation and possessions.
Maximum Occupants
El Horizonte can sleep 10 people in the five bedrooms plus a further 2 people by prior arrangement at extra charge on the sofa/daybeds in the lounge. Parties of more than 12 people are not accepted and no more than 12 people may stay overnight at El Horizonte.
Arrival & Departure Times (Arrival 4.30pm, Departure 11.00am)
Please vacate the villa by 11am on the day of your departure. Late departure may incur an extra charge.If you have later flights you may leave your luggage in the villa garage by prior arrangement and return to collect them later in the day.
Between bookings the villa is cleaned between 11am and 4.30pm You may arrive before 4.30pm (but NOT before 11am) but the villa may be being cleaned around you and may not be ready for occupation. If you wish you may therefore leave your luggage at the villa and go into the resort or down to the community pool area. We do however recommend you arrange flights to coincide with checkin time to save inconvenience. Similarly your luggage may be left in the villa garage if you have later flights on departure day.
Arrival/Departure days may be any days which enable you to book cheap flights. Outside of peak season we try to be as flexible as possible regarding arrival and departure times.
Safety:
The central heating and water heating boilers are situated outside the villa so there is no chance of carbon monoxide entering the villa. There is a smoke alarm in the central hallway and a gas detector/alarm monitors the gas cooker in the kitchen.
Included Charges
All gas for cooker, bbq, and water heating and electricity costs are included in the weekly rental charge. Winter prices include a maximum of 4 gas bottles per week for the central heating. This is usually enough for an hour in the morning and several hours off and on throughout the evening for one week. Extra bottles may be obtained from us if required at the official rate (currently 15Euros).
The villa is fully equipped with large cooker, microwave oven, gas BBQ, fridge/freezer, drinks fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, iron & board, and a hairdryer. All bedrooms and the lounge have fans.
We can arrange hire of the following items: Travel Cot & Mattress £25 pwk, High Chair £15 pwk, StairGate £15 pwk. Please bring your own bedlinen for the cot as for hygiene reasons it is not supplied.
Bedsheets & Towels are changed at the end of your first week's stay. If you would like any extra changes this can be done at 12Euros per room per change. You may of course wash any sheets and towels in the washing machine yourself during your stay.
The Pool is cleaned once a week. Depending on time constraints this may be before or after your stay at El Horizonte. Pool chemical levels are checked every 3 or 4 days; if needed chemicals will be added late evening after which the pool should not be used for 30 minutes to ensure the chemicals have fully dispersed.
Excess use of sun creams (even waterproof ones) can turn the pool cloudy. This in no way effects the safety of the water but can look unpleasant. There are no chemicals that can be added to remove this cloudiness. If you reduce the amount of sun creams used it should clear up eventually. To prevent cloudiness it is recommended that all users shower before using the pool and re-apply their sun cream after exiting the pool.
Car Hire/Airport Transfers:
Transfers from and back to the airport are not included. You may take local taxis from the airport at a cost of approx 45Euros per cab. The train service from Malaga to Fuengirola is easy to use and costs 2.15 each way. A taxi from Fuengirola station to the villa will be about 10Euros.
For those who want added convenience we can arrange good quality car hire at very competitive rates. (Payabe by Visa or Mastercard at time of collection of car). Please contact us for details. You may collect hired cars we arrange from the airport, saving taxi costs. Car hire for a week may infact work out cheaper than taxi costs from the airport and taxis to restaurants, shopping etc over a one week stay.
